Ways to see Cambridge

Cambridge is full of hidden secrets just waiting to be discovered. There are many ways to see the sights. Like every city there is the open top bus tour and guided tours. But if you want to see the city properly why not do what the locals, do take to a bike or the river?

We have several different tours for you to take from general walking tours to special interest trips. Explore Newmarket with your own personal horseracing specialist, visit the sites of scientific discovery or trace the city’s history from the Romans to the present day. Most interest are covered by our great University city.

Our partners have put together a tour that you do yourself by following a series of clues either in paper format or on i-pads that are supplied. Playing in teams, your group will explore the world-famous University colleges, cobbled streets and tranquil riverside beauty spots in a search for clues relating to their surroundings. The treasure hunt covers the very best of the city with clues highlighting famous landmarks, hidden treasures and even a few historic pubs! To add the competitive edge, you can finish your tour with a “Showdown Quiz”. The quiz can take place in the venue of your choice; teams use electronic buttons to answer a series of multiple choice questions based on the information they would have discovered on their tour. The quiz can also be used to add questions of your choice; why not quiz delegates on the content of the conference. OR to mix it up general knowledge or speciality rounds can be added. If you chose to add the competitive edge the team are there to set you off on your tour and to run the quiz at the end. The “do it yourself” option gives you the clue books and you can choose your own time frame in which to complete the challenges. If you want to test your knowledge there is scratch card version of the end quiz.

Why not combine the tours? Add a trip on a punt to your competitive sightseeing tour? Or hire bicycle to complete the tasks? Or do a tour after dark with a few ghostly twists.
